This study aims to produce a comprehensive set of landscape guidelines which will be an efficient tool for landscape development planning; design; implementation; as well as management and maintenance work.
1. Landscape Planning Development
This aspect addresses related viable guidelines for the study. It ensures the key components of landscape planning are considered and coordinated in a manner that balances the aesthetic, built environment, social, cultural and economic concerns to create and sustain the ‘garden nation’ concept by 2020
2. Landscape Preservation and Conservation
This aspect focuses on four major issues, namely preservation of trees; preservation of natural topography and restoration of land affected by development; preservation and conservation of heritage sites; as well as preservation and conservation of natural landscapes of national interest.
3. Landscape Architectural Design
This aspect study plays an important role in establishing visual identity and characteristic. The study focuses on design functions; aesthetics; principles; as well as user demands.
4. Landscape Project Implementation
This aspect discusses two major issues, namely jurisdiction of submission; and implementation process of landscape project. An overview of the submission process will be discussed based on current situation. Case studies comprised those of local and international references.
5. Landscape Management and Maintenance
This aspect emphasizes both management of the site (staffing and project) and maintenance aspects (hardscape and softscape). This aspects will use several techniques of data collection in order to gather explicit and viable data for the guidelines.
